Variable Pricing?, Posted 08-06-2005, 04:26 PM #1
I was looking at ManageMore and was curious if it can handle what I will call variable pricing. When I say variable pricing I mean that in my business you will have labor rates that vary based on the size of particular jobs. Let me provide an example. It is a window screen repair company and the labor rate will vary based on the size of the screen being fixed. If it is under so many inches then one flat rate but over some many another. Can ManageMore handle this without having to set-up multiple labor inventory items and prompt (or provide a field) for the additional information necessary to determine the proper amount?

Hi koxler!

You can set multiple prices per individual SKU item by using price levels. ManageMore allows you to define up to eight price levels, which can then be used to set up different prices for the same item, in this case, labor. Once this has been set up, you can then choose the price level to be used on the invoice itself.

If you want, you can also set up class codes which will point to certain pricing levels. Then when you set a customer to one of these class codes, any invoice created on their account will have the corresponding pricing level set automatically.

Hope this helps!

koxler,

When you refer to "Variable Pricing" what I believe you mean is "Tiered Pricing," which is supported by ManageMore.

In addition to the eight standard price levels that Tech Support was referring to in the pervious message, each price level can be adjusted based on the quantity that is entered. You can set up to 5 tiers per price level, tiers are "retroactive" which means that all items are charged based on the highest tier achieved.

Once the tiers are set up, the pricing works automatically at the point of sale.

I hope this helps.
