In today’s rapidly evolving world of wholesale operations, managing a warehouse efficiently is a crucial determinant of success. At the forefront of this transformation is the ManageMore Mobile Order Management System (OMS). When operated in Warehouse mode, this tool provides real-time interaction with warehouse data, facilitating unprecedented control and efficiency. This article will guide you on how to utilize the ManageMore Mobile OMS in Warehouse mode to optimize your warehouse operations.
Logging In / Mobile Warehouse Menu
Everything begins when employees access the application and sign in using their unique PIN set up during the Employee setup. This authentication process ensures that only authorized personnel have access to the system. Once successfully logged in, employees who are designated as Warehouse mode in their setup will see the Warehouse Menu. This menu hosts a suite of powerful features, each tailored to streamline a different aspect of warehouse operations.
Picking Orders
The Picking Orders function is a standout feature of the ManageMore Mobile OMS. Tapping the ‘Pick Orders’ button brings the user to a queue of orders waiting to be picked. These orders are organized with the oldest first to facilitate easy prioritization. Once an order is selected and ‘Begin’ is tapped, the picking process commences.
The list of items for the chosen order is displayed, ready to be picked. As the user scans the items during the picking process, they are automatically removed from the list. To get more granular information, the user can tap ‘Details’ to enter a mode that displays a larger view of the selected item, permits manual entry of picked counts, and allows the user to mark an item as ‘short’ if it cannot be located. Tapping the ‘Picked’ button shows the items that have already been picked.
Once all items are picked and there are no more items to pick, the ‘Finish’ button activates, marking the end of the picking process for the selected order when tapped. Remember, only the employee assigned to an order will see it in their ‘Pick Orders’ list, ensuring clear responsibility and accountability.
Counting Inventory
The Counting Inventory feature is designed to make inventory management simpler and more efficient. It lets users select from inventory batches created in ManageMore and sent to the Mobile OMS for counting. Users can then input the count of items on hand for each item in the batch. This count is subsequently posted to adjust the quantities in ManageMore, ensuring inventory tracking is accurate and real-time.
Receiving Inventory
The Receiving Inventory function brings efficiency to the process of adding new stock from vendors to the inventory. Upon tapping ‘Receive Inventory’, the user can enter or scan the Purchase Order (PO) number against which the inventory is to be received. If the PO is found in the system, the user can start scanning items.
In the absence of a PO number, the user can indicate the same. However, this action bypasses the control of verification against a PO and will not be possible if POs are required in the ManageMore Accounts Payable settings. If an item cannot be scanned, it can be manually entered or searched for. When all items have been received, tapping ‘Finish’ completes the receipt, immediately updating the Quantity on Hand.
It’s crucial to note that the receipt must be posted in ManageMore to generate a Purchase Receipt (Bill) and affect the Vendor balance and general ledger.
Item Lookup
The Item Lookup feature gives warehouse staff an all-in-one tool for accessing critical inventory item information. By scanning or searching for an item in the inventory, users can view its details and prices and generate one or more barcode-capable labels. Those set as warehouse managers can adjust the item count as needed, enhancing the speed and accuracy of warehouse operations.
By leveraging the ManageMore Mobile OMS in Warehouse mode, wholesalers can significantly enhance the efficiency and accuracy of their warehouse operations. Its user-friendly design, real-time data interaction, and robust features equip your warehouse staff with the tools they need for effective management of orders, inventory, and item information. The ManageMore Mobile OMS is an invaluable resource for wholesale businesses aiming for operational optimization and growth.
