About Customer Care Setup

 

This section is used to set up preference settings for the Customer Care screen.  Setup of search options, and customer statistics to view are done in this section using screens of similar functionality.

Search Methods

 

Search methods are used to find customers in the Customer Care screen.  The user can set their preferences as to which search methods to use to lookup customers, and in which order they will appear.  The user can also determine the description of the search method that will be shown.  The program maintains one set of search methods per company.  These are shared among all employees.

 

Fields

 

Field to Search

The field in the customer record to search for the data provided.  Cannot be changed.

 

Description

The description to show the user for this search method.

 

bulbSince the search methods are shown in a drop list, and are therefore accessible by pressing the first letter of the description, you should choose descriptions that each start with a different letter.  This way, you can simply press that letter when on the drop list to choose the correct search method.

 

Force proper capitalization on search entry field

Check this box to require that the search entry field is entered with proper capitalization (e.g. John Doe, not JOHN DOE, or john doe).  This will ensure more accurate searching for data that is stored in this manner.

 

Force upper case characters only on search entry field

Check this box to require that the search entry field is entered with upper capitalization (e.g. JOHN DOE, not John Doe, or john doe).  This will ensure more accurate searching for data that is stored in this manner.

 

Do not display lookup list when search entry not found

Check this box to simply beep when a match is not made.  Otherwise a list will appear displaying the closest match.  This option is used for numerical searches, where a close match is not relevant.

 

 

 

 

Customer Statistics

 

Customer Statistics are used to display relevant information about the customer in the Customer Care screen.   These statistics are maintained by ManageMore, and are displayed on the Customer Info tab, on the bottom left hand corner of the Customer Care screen.  The program maintains one set of customer statistics per company.  These settings are shared among all employees.

 

Fields

 

Position

The position of the statistic in the list.  Controlled by the up/down buttons on the preference setup window.

 

Statistic Name

The internal name of the statistic to display.  Cannot be changed.

 

Statistic Description

The prompt to display to the left of this statistic.  You can rename the statistics for easier understanding by your users.

 

Color

The color in which to display the statistic.

 

bulbThe best use of color is to use the same color on most values, and highlight one or two statistics in a contrasting color.
