About Service Plans

 

Service Plans allow you to enter multiple recurring charges at once for a customer who has several charges related to one service.  Service plans can consist of multiple SKU items or even of multiple service plans, allowing for large numbers of recurring charges to be charged at once, without having to enter many individual recurring charge items on a customer or service record.  When a service plan code is added to a service record, the charges from the plan are automatically added to the service.

Field by Field Help - Service Plan screen

 

General

 

Service Plan composed of

Select whether this new service plan should be made of SKU items or other service plans.  This field is only available when first creating a new service plan.

 

Service Template

Select the service template whose definitions should be used in this service plan.

 

Service Plan Code

Enter an ID code for the service plan.

 

Location

Enter or select a location that this service plan is to be used in.  Leave this field blank if the service plan can be used in all locations.

 

Plan Description

Enter a description of the service plan here.

 

Plan Applies To

Choose the correct setting to determine the usage of this plan.  You can enter the same plan code multiple times, and apply each to a different customer or class code, with unique pricing, SKUs, and settings for each application.  Application choices are:

 

AllThis plan applies to all customers.  Price on each SKU will be determined by item's price level 1 in Supertrack Inventory.  If this plan code is entered on a service record, this plan will apply if a specific customer or class code plan of the same code is not found.
CustomerThis plan applies only to the customer chosen.  Price on each SKU will be determined by the customer's class code pricing.  Once this is chosen, a customer account number and billing cycle must be completed.  If this plan code is entered on a service record, this plan will apply if found for the customer chosen.
Class CodeThis plan applies to all customers in the selected class code.  Price on each SKU will be determined by a certain class code's pricing.  Once this is chosen, a customer account number and billing cycle must be completed.  If this plan code is entered on a service record, this plan will apply if a specific customer plan of the same code is not found.

 

Customer/Class Code

Enter or select the customer or class code to which this plan code applies.  You should create a new plan code record for each customer/class code for which you would like to define specific pricing.

 

Billing Cycles

Select the number of billing cycles to which the pricing applies.  The plan will then apply only to services entered with the appropriate billing cycle.   This field will only be visible if the pricing method is based on customer or class code.

 

New

Click this button to add anew SKU or service plan to this service plan.

 

Edit

Click this button to modify the selected SKU or service plan.

 

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected SKU or service plan.

 

Service Plan Detail

 

When the service plan consists of SKUs, the following fields will be displayed for each SKU to enter:

 

SKU Item Code

Enter or select the SKU item number to include in the service plan here.

 

Custom Description

Enter a customized description for this recurring charge here.  By default, this field will pre-fill with the long description from the supertrack inventory item previously selected.

 

Billing Amount

Enter the amount to be billed for this recurring charge here.  By default, this field will pre-fill with the appropriate price selected from the supertrack inventory item previously selected.

 

When the service plan consists of other service plans, the following field will be displayed for each service plan to enter:

 

Service Plan

Enter the service plan code to include in the service plan here.

 

Special

 

Service Plan Starts on

Enter or select the date on which the service plan can first be used.  Leaving this field blank means that the service plan is available for use immediately.

 

Service Plan Ends on

Enter or select the date on which the service plan can last be used.  Leaving this field blank means that the service plan can be used indefinitely.

 

Required Password for use

Enter a password here that will be necessary to enter if a user wants to use this service plan.  Leaving this field blank will allow anyone access to this service plan.

 

Notes

 

Enter any miscellaneous notes about the service plan here.  This value is for internal use only.
