About Topic
The Dynamic POS Layout allows you to set up a wide assortment of touchscreen buttons to represent items, discounts, calls to other button menus, and even quick payments to speed the point of sale process. Most of the functions are geared towards those with touchscreen monitors, though users can also use a mouse and keyboard to take advantage of the streamlined processes available with the dynamic point of sale.

Buttons
[Exit]
Click/touch this button to exit the POS screen.
[Home]
Click/touch this button to go back to the default touchscreen buttons.
[No Sale]
Click/touch this button to clear all items from the current transaction.
[Price Check]
Click/touch this button to enter the price check screen in order to look up an item's price and other pertinent information.
[Function Keys]
Click/touch this button to turn the bottom layer of function key buttons on or off.
[On Screen Keyboard]
Click/touch this button to turn on or off an on-screen keyboard to use in lieu of a standard keyboard. This is meant to work with a touchscreen monitor, but can alternately work with a mouse.
[Help]
Click/touch this button to access online help.
[[POS Buttons]]
Click/touch the buttons in this area to carry out the actions defined for these buttons in the Touchscreen Setup area of Setup POS.
[[Function Key Buttons]]
Click/touch this button to turn on or off the the on screen function keys. Turning these off will expand the transaction details area.
Add Item
Click/touch this button to add a new item to the transaction.
Remove Item
Click/touch this button to remove the selected item from the transaction. If no item is selected, the last item on the list is removed.
Up/Down
Click/touch this button to select the next item up or down in the transaction details list.
Edit Item
Click/touch this button to edit the selected line item in its own screen.
Total
Click/touch this button to finish the transaction and enter payment information. This can also be done by pressing F12 on an attached keyboard.
Detail Fields
Date
Displays the current date.
Customer
Displays current customer account information, if applicable. This can be accessed by first touching/clicking the appropriate button Touchscreen Layout key or a defined function key.
Transaction No.
Displays the internal number assigned to this transaction. This number cannot be changed.
Rep.
Enter the employee ID of the salesperson here. The program may provide a default value, depending upon the option selected in the Setup POS. This can be changed by first touching/clicking the appropriate button Touchscreen Layout key or a defined function key.
Tax Code
Displays the tax code of the customer. If no customer was chosen, the location's tax code will be used instead. This can be changed by first touching/clicking the appropriate button Touchscreen Layout key or a defined function key.
Location
Displays the location that the user is currently logged into.
SKU Item
Enter the identifying code of the item being sold. Serial Numbers, UPC Code, and SKU Alias, can also be used to enter a SKU Item. A barcode reader may optionally be used to enter this field.
Description
Displays the description of the SKU Item chosen. This field may be optionally skipped and/or locked, depending upon the item selected.
Quantity
Enter the number of units of the SKU Item being sold. This field will contain a default value based on the SKU Item setup in Supertrack inventory. This field may be optionally skipped and/or locked, depending upon the item selected. The number of decimal places displayed in this field is determined by the quantity precision setting in Setup Inventory.
UM
Displays the unit of measure used when selling this item. Quantities will reflect this unit of measure.
Unit Price
Enter the price per unit for this item. This value will be computed based on supertrack inventory, class code price level, alias pricing, customer pricing and/or promotional pricing in effect. This field may be optionally skipped and/or locked, depending upon the item selected. The number of decimal places displayed in this field is determined by the price precision setting in Setup Inventory.
Extended Price
The unit price multiplied by the quantity. Changing this field will recompute the Unit Price. This field may be optionally skipped and/or locked, depending upon the item selected.
